- Shortboard: short, low-volume boards built to turn in powerful waves; aimed at intermediate and advanced surfers.
- Longboard: long boards (over 9 ft) with lots of float, ideal for small waves, beginners or classic noseriding.
- Fish: short, wide boards with a swallow tail; fast and easy to paddle in small to medium waves.
- Gun: long, narrow boards for big waves, where paddle speed and control matter most.
- Mini-malibu: a mini longboard (7–8 ft) with plenty of volume; the usual step up from a foam board.
