Cyprus, at the eastern end of the Mediterranean, gets waves when winter storms cross the sea from the west. The south and west coasts, between Paphos and Limassol, have sand and pebble beaches and a few reefs that work with a west or south-west swell.
The season runs from November to March, with waves that usually last a day or two. The surf community is small and concentrated in Limassol and Paphos. The water is among the warmest in Europe: 17 °C in winter, so a 3/2 is enough.
