Freshwater West
Wales' most consistent beach: powerful banks between dunes and film-set scenery.
Freshwater West is a wild beach between dunes, fully open to the Atlantic, and the most consistent in Wales. Its sandbanks are powerful, especially at low to mid tide, and it has hosted national championships.
Swimming is dangerous because of the currents. The beach has appeared in several films, including the Harry Potter series.
