Imsouane
Morocco's longest right: at The Bay you can link hundreds of metres.
Southern Morocco is one of the world's great winter surf destinations. Between Imsouane and Agadir, a chain of right points (Anchor Point, Killer Point, Boilers, Hash Point, Banana Point) breaks along an arid coast of ochre cliffs, with Taghazout as the base village full of surf camps. Further south, Mirleft and Sidi Ifni offer quieter waves and landscapes of rock arches.
The season runs from October to March, when North Atlantic swells arrive clean and the points work with an easterly wind. In summer there are small waves for learning and more wind. The climate is mild all year and the water is 17–18 °C in winter and 21–22 °C in summer: a 3/2 is usually enough. Respect local customs, buy from village shops and leave nothing valuable in the car.
