Praia da Barra
Aveiro's surf beach, by Portugal's tallest lighthouse and the lagoon jetty.
Praia da Barra is at the entrance to the Aveiro lagoon, next to Portugal's tallest lighthouse. The jetties fix sandbanks for every level: it's a good place to learn and, on good days, also for skilled surfers.
To the south is Costa Nova, with its colourful striped houses.
