Famara
A 6 km beach below the Famara cliffs: Lanzarote's surf hub and its best place to learn.
Famara is a big sand beach at the foot of a 600 m cliff, next to the village of La Caleta de Famara. It has excellent peaks along the sand and is the base for many of the island's surf schools and camps.
The currents are strong, so you should know the spot or go with instructors. Mornings are usually better: in the afternoon the wind picks up and more people arrive.
