La Gravière
For many, the best beach break in Europe: fast, heavy barrels in very shallow water.
La Gravière is Hossegor's most famous wave. With a west swell and an easterly wind it breaks with hollow, fast and very powerful barrels over a shallow sandbank, both left and right.
It's a wave for very experienced surfers: lots of boards get broken and hitting the bottom is common. When it's on, the line-up fills with pros and the best locals.

Surfing style
Heavy, fast barrels.
