Pantín
One of the most consistent beaches in Spain and, for decades, the home of the Pantín Classic.
Pantín is a beach open to the north-west, with several sand peaks along the bay and a channel on the right that makes paddling out easier. It picks up almost any swell, so when the rest of the north coast is small there are usually waves here.
It hosts the Pantín Classic, one of the longest-running surf contests in Europe, which says a lot about its quality: powerful walls, sections to turn on and the odd barrel at low tide with a south-east wind.
