Forte dei Marmi
The Versilia beaches by Forte dei Marmi's pier, the cradle of Tuscan surfing.
Versilia is a straight sandy coast with the Apuan Alps behind it. At Forte dei Marmi, the peaks by the pier (the pontile) and the groynes work with a libeccio or maestrale swell and an easterly wind.
It's one of the most traditional areas of Italian surfing, with lots of longboarders.
