Montgat
Beaches by the railway north of Barcelona that pick up the easterly swell well.
Montgat opens the Maresme coast just north of Badalona. Its beaches, split by groynes and right next to the railway line, take the east swell head-on and are usually a bit bigger than the city beaches.
It's a common alternative when Barceloneta is crowded, and easy to reach by local train.
